A little bit about me and why I am motivated to build this website
ABOUT ME Jan 2012 I am a 65 year old married man with a lifetime of experiences behind me. My wife and I live on an 80+ acre place midway between Seguin and San Marcos in central Texas. We moved here last year from north central Texas. This place was settled by her ancestors many decades ago and we are now reclaiming it. The property has been leased for pasture grazing in the past but has been neglected for many years. I'll tell more about this on the Our Homestead pages. I want to tell you up front that I am an unashamed Christian. I'm sure that there are legions of web site designers who would say that introducing anything about God is a no-no. Don't want to offend any non-believers don't you know. Well, this is no concern of mine. The idea of God is inseparable from the garden. I have witnessed His loving hand in my life many times and I see it in His design of the world around me. I believe in nature but not in Mother Nature. I won't get preachy about my beliefs but I will state what I believe when it is appropriate. Why build this website? Here's why I decided to create this website. First of all, I am passionate about gardening and very passionate about organic gardening. It is in my DNA and I believe it is in yours and everyone else's as well. When God created our oldest ancestor, Adam, we are told Gen 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. There you go. Gardening is an inherited desire. We have a longing, a craving, a yearning, a need to garden that we can't explain or define. It's just there within us. Maybe we want to be a part of creation by watching the fruits of our labor grow into a healthy plant which will later feed us. Who knows? I'm, sure that each of us could come up with a different reason for why we want to garden. What's yours? Better nutrition for our plants and ourselves too Another reason I am creating this website is to inform people about the connection between organically grown fruits and vegetables and our health through improved nutrition. Organically grown vegetables are not always as nutritious as they could be. Nutrition is dependent on the minerals and trace elements that make their way into our food. If you have a lack of minerals and trace elements then you have a lack of nutritional value. They are inseparable. Period. I will show you how to grow nutritious fruits and vegetables with the emphasis on nutrition. I believe that it will become increasingly important for people to take more control over this part of their lives in the days to come and I stand ready to help them do that. Bookmark this website and come back often. I will be constantly adding more info in the future. I pray God's blessings on you. Ray

PS Let me just add this one thing. If you have ever thought of building your own website or starting an online business you should look into doing it through SiteBuildIt. Just click on the SBI link at the bottom of the page to get all the info you need. What they teach and the tools they provide have been invaluable to a non-techie like me.
